Gender affirming voice training is a non-surgical approach to shifting and changing aspects of the voice that are recognized as gender-specific.
This voice training helps folks find the voice that is truest to their gender expression and empowers them to speak confidently.
Our voice is not just sound. It is a comprehensive and complex system of brain function, nerve control, muscular movements, and sound production. Speech-language pathologists spend a great deal of time studying these systems independently and their interconnectedness to produce voice.
As a speech-language pathologist, Meredith is specifically trained to understand the neurology, anatomy, and physiology of voice. She will help guide the safest way to shift and change the voice; by identifying your specific goals and developing a plan of strategies and tasks to help you reach your most authentic vocal expression.
Meredith is a collaborator in your journey. She will guide you and make suggestions that are aligned with current research, while keeping your goals and personal experience at the forefront of your training. Meredith’s understanding of how the nervous system impacts voice offers a great deal of fluidity, respect, and support for the process.
